The build process is a never-ending joy & learning experience, much like playing the guitar.

So, my big brother was playing guitar and I figured I’d try it too.

~Stevie Ray Vaughan

I began playing guitar in the mid-70’s at about age 10 or 11. My older brothers and several friends were already playing instruments and were huge influences on me.

I began playing live in high school, and participated in several bands up through the mid 80’s. In 1989, I was a top 10 finalist in a guitar competition while in college at Kansas State University.

Throughout the 90’s and up to the present, my focus has been on home recording, and more recently, instrument construction.

Stringed Instrument Construction

I’ve enjoyed woodworking off and on since high school and in 2005 I took up the task of building stringed instruments. The build process is a never-ending learning experience, much like playing the guitar. A wealth of information exists on the web that has helped me gain the knowledge to tackle this endeavor.

In 2009, I hooked up with Lonnie and Kevin and started 3 Line Guitars. We built custom electric guitars and basses until 2011.

In 2009 I also started building electric guitars for Gene Watson.

When I`m having a bad day, I pick up my guitar. Music is my release
